Border Patrol Activity

Border Patrol Tweets

Deb and I toured the Weslaco Border Patrol facility, I wanted to learn more about the border wall initiative.  My take away was, “This wall will not stop illegal’s, but it will slow the border crossing activity to a more manageable level.”

Only two out of ten people crossing the border illegally are Mexican, other nationality’s make up the balance.  With the help of my nephew and his fiancé’, I’ve since opened a twitter account, and follow Austin Skero, RGV Chief Patrol Agent.   The purpose of this post is to filter out administration Tweets (agent promotion’s, school events, etc) , and post the work these front-line people do.

Border Patrol Seizes Over 70 Pounds of Cocaine

Release Date:
March 6, 2020

MURRIETA, Calif.—Border Patrol agents arrested a man Wednesday evening who had over 70 pounds of cocaine hidden inside his truck.

On March 4th, at approximately 7 p.m., Border Patrol agents initiated a vehicle stop on a suspicious 2016 Nissan Frontier on Interstate 215 near the Murrieta Hot Springs exit.  Pursuant to a K-9 alert, the pickup truck was searched by agents.

During the search, agents discovered 27 bundles of cocaine stashed inside the pickup’s front and rear seats, and underneath the seats.

The bundles of cocaine weighed 70.80 pounds and had an estimated street value of $786,450.

“In the last 72 hours San Diego Sector has seized over 117 pounds of lethal narcotics worth more than $1,300,000,” said Chief Patrol Agent Aaron Heitke.  “Thankfully these dangerous drugs will not reach our local communities.”

The driver, a 32-year-old U.S. citizen, was placed under arrest.  The narcotics were turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.  The vehicle was seized by the U.S. Border Patrol.

See the following link for yesterday’s press release regarding another significant seizure.

To prevent the illicit smuggling of humans, drugs, and other contraband, the U.S. Border Patrol maintains a high level of vigilance on corridors of egress away from our Nation’s borders.  To report suspicious activity to the U.S. Border Patrol, contact San Diego Sector at (619) 498-9900.

Despite >850k arrests along our borders last year, 140k people got away. That’s just what we know about. We don’t know who they are, where they’re from, where they’re going, what they brought, or what their intentions are. I know this: they didn’t just stay in the border area.

In #YumaSector, illegal alien apprehensions have fallen from approx. 450 per day during the height of the crisis last year, to approx. 20 – 40 at the start of this year. We have proven, the new border wall system, in addition to help from Mexico and new U.S. govt. programs, work.

When criminal aliens illegally enter the U.S., they don’t stay along the border. The vast majority flee to the interior of the U.S. where they hope to stay in the shadows. Every county is a border county, because every county is affected by this illicit cross-border activity.
